Lesson for March – Mr. Stanford

A positive attitude and confidence are powerful character traits in kids!

In March, White, Yellow, & Orange belt students will be talking about Attitude at the end of regular classes.

Attitude is that way we think or feel about something. Of course, we should try to keep a positive attitude as much as possible in order to be happy and successful. One important thing to remember is although you may not be able to change the actions of others or the situation you may find yourself in, you can ALWAYS change your attitude.

Another way to think about it is that we cannot always control what happens, but we can control how we react to what happens. When you react in a positive and productive way, you can start to change the position that you are in.

We like to tell the students that if you have a Black Belt Attitude, meaning you act and think like a Black Belt, then you will become a Black Belt!

Purple Belts & Above will also talk about Confidence and having a Confident Attitude. Having confidence means you feel good about yourself and you don't dwell on what others think of you.

Just like having a overall positive attitude leads to success, so will having a confident attitude. There are many ways people can build their own confidence, and a lot of that involves thinking and acting with confidence (just like having a Black Belt attitude leads to becoming a Black Belt!)
“The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human being can alter his Life by altering his attitude.” ~ William James
